The following lists updates to road construction projects by the Directorate of Public Works and the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Sill. Information will be updated weekly.
Sheridan Road: is limited to one lane of traffic in each direction between Fort Sill Boulevard and Craig Road for about one more month. Workers will create a tank trail that runs from the new THAAD facility to Howitzer Trail on the north side of Sheridan Road. Once completed, the new tank trail will have a 20-foot wide concrete crossing and a set of traffic lights that will be activated only when the trail is in use.
Apache Gate Road entrance: Work will include about 750 feet of pavement across all lanes from the perimeter fence to the intersection with Highway 49. The road will remain open to traffic during all phases of construction. Completion is scheduled for April 18.
Hunt Road: from Babcock to Crane Road in front of Bldg. 2327. The road will remain open to traffic during all phases of construction. Estimated completion date is June 9.
Parking lot: serving Sheridan Road Theater and Truman Education Center: The lot will be repaired in sections allowing continued vehicle access during the work. The work should end by Sept. 12.
Thomas Road: repaving is delayed. Work should begin April 5 and be finished by June 10.
Condon Road: from Wolff Road to Geronimo Road, in front of Bldg. 4908 will begin April 7. The road will be repaired and repaved in sections. The road will remain open to traffic during all phases of construction. The work should end about June 10.
Fort Sill Cemetery roads: Repave and repair of the access roads in the cemetery are underway. The road will be closed for the duration of the project. Scheduled completion date is May 23.
