AL UDEID AIR BASE, Doha, Qatar -- A loud and thunderous "Send the Legion" could be heard echoing throughout the gymnasium complex here as 3-43 ADA conducted their change of command ceremony last month. Lt. Col Joshua Moon transferred the guide on after 24 successful months of command to Lt. Col Anthony Behrens.

The ceremony left no room to disappoint a Soldier dressed in full Roman Legionnaire attire was on-hand to oversee the whole event as speakers gave their remarks and authority was transferred. The ceremony was presided over by Col. Michael T. Morrissey, commander 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade, as Morrissey listed the many accomplishments the Legion has made ?"Send the Legion" was echoed to confirm the feats.

Lt. Col Moon took command of 3-43 ADA Battalion in January of 2012 and immediately set out to give the battalion an identity. Moon established the "Legion" moniker, and from that point on "Send the Legion" was their battle cry for all to hear.

Moon took time to thank Maj. Gen. Dana Pittard, deputy commanding general of operations for United States Army Central Command, who was on-hand to attend the event. Pittard is a former Commanding General of the 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss, Texas where the "Legion" battalion is based out of.

Lt. Col Behrens, a former operations officer for 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade was ready and excited to take charge of Task Force Legion, he thanked Moon for his service as commander and wished him luck in his future.

Task Force Legion assumed the mission or providing crucial air and missile defense of assets in the United States Central Command Area of Responsibility last November. Their presence in theater hasn?'t gone unnoticed, their spirit and motivation across Al Udeid Air Base is unmatched.
