FORT BENNING, Ga. (Jan. 29, 2014) -- The Fort Benning Facebook Town Hall is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 29 on Facebook.

The town hall focuses on community topics such as traffic, construction, housing and education issues, said Tiffani Migliore, management analyst for the Garrison Command.

There will be more than 60 people from Fort Benning participating in the town hall including those from housing, Martin Army Community Hospital, Battle Buddy Resource Center, Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation and AAFES, she said.

"It is a great way to have issues and concerns addressed with the leadership and agencies on post," Migliore said.

While it will be an open forum, she said swearing, graphic or obscene comments would not be allowed.

"We get more 'bang for the buck' and this is the primary (way) Soldiers and Families communicate," Migliore said.

"The days of face-to-face town halls are becoming more of an exception. People with valid questions and concerns may have competing demands that prevent them from attending a town hall meeting. Social media is convenient, and you can connect and participate from anywhere in the world."
