BAMBERG, Germany (Oct. 17, 2013) -- U.S. Army Garrison Bamberg will host a Harvest Festival Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. at the JFK Gym area.

The four-hour event will feature a Kinder Fest and Haunted House from 4 to 8 p.m. Trick-or-Treat and Trunk-or-Treat will last from 5 to 7 p.m. Community members are invited to bring lawn chairs and set up along the Trick-or-Treat trail to hand out candy. The trail will wind behind the JFK and lead into the Trunk-or-Treat area.

A costume parade and contest for all ages will begin at 6 p.m. outside the JFK. Prizes will be awarded for various age groups. Food, games, a bouncy castle, Fun House and face painters will also be on hand, while teens can take part in a scavenger hunt.

Community members are encouraged to wear family-friendly costumes and participate in this event. As the majority of the garrison's housing area is now vacant, there will be no other Trick or Treat opportunities on post.

The entry fee is one unopened bag of candy. Cars for Trunk-or-Treat should enter through the Health Clinic parking lot. All other parking will be across from JFK or in the Freedom Fitness Facility lot.

All Morale, Welfare and Recreation facilities, including the Community Activity Center, Arts and Crafts, library, Freedom Fitness Facility, Auto Skills Center, Bowling Alley (with the exception of the bar, which will remain open), and Outdoor Recreation will close at 3 p.m. in order to prepare for the event.
