FORT BENNING, Ga. (May 8, 2013) -- The Atlanta Braves will honor military personnel next week when they hold their annual military appreciation day May 18.

The Braves, currently in first place in the National League East, will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers, who currently sit at fourth place in the NL West despite having the highest payroll in Major League Baseball.

In honor of the event, the team is offering 2-for-1 upper box or outfield tickets to all customers with a valid military ID. Tickets must be purchased at the Turner Field ticket windows only and cannot be purchased online.

Upper box tickets are $24, while outfield tickets are $36.

As part of the event, 180 military members will be on the field during a special pregame ceremony.

Some of the 180 personnel will unfurl a giant American flag in the Turner Field outfield during the national anthem, while others will stand alongside Braves and Dodgers players on the basepaths during the anthem.

Members of the Braves game day staff that have served in the military will hold stars representing each branch of the American military.

U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Earl Gay, the commander of the Navy Recruiting Command and a native of Atlanta, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.

First pitch for the game between the Braves and Dodgers is set for 7:10 p.m.
