REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. - A management analyst with the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command decided it was time for him to go fishing.

Jerry D. Otwell, who works in SMDC's Future Warfare Center, retired from federal service in a ceremony April 2 at the command's Redstone Arsenal headquarters.

During the ceremony, Otwell received the Commander's Award for Civilian Service, a certificate of appreciation, an American Flag, a certificate of retirement, and a retirement pin.

During his speech, Otwell said that he intends to go fishing now that he is retired. He retires with 34 years of federal civilian service.
