Some of our major accomplishments to date:
· In Honduras, Advisors have made progress in developing the noncommissioned officer academy and have partnered with the Honduran 1st Engineer Battalion to improve their employment of Acrow Modular Bridging assets.
· In Columbia, Advisors partnered with the Counternarcotics and Transnational Threats Command to develop their staff’s processes and progress them to a fully operational status.
· Advisor teams operating out of Tolemaida Air Army Airfield, Colombia began work with military institutional units in the country. At the institutional level, U.S. Military Advisors’ impact will resonate throughout the entirety of the Colombian Army with their feedback being implemented in the country’s professional military education.
· In Panama, Advisors identified knowledge gaps hindering the National Border Service’s transition from analog to digital maintenance operations.
The unit will continue to employ force packages in six-month intervals in support of partners in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility. The unit will continue its partnerships with Columbia, Honduras, and Panama, focusing on the institutional domain, integration of operations, intelligence, and sustainment, and building staff processes. The organization will expand episodically to Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Guyana in the coming year. This expansion will increase advisor presence, build interoperability and partner capacity, and maintain the U.S. as the partner of choice.

About 3-353rd Training Regiment
Train deploying FORSCOM units and key leaders across the United States to advise and assist foreign security forces to meet Geographic Combatant Commander security cooperation and security force assistance requirements.
The Tiger Battalion is FORSCOM’s premier training organization for the security cooperation and security force assistance mission. Assigned to the Security Force Assistance Command (SFAC), 3-353rd REGT is located on North Fort Polk, Louisiana. Our 275 personnel include leaders, cadre, and linguists from 35 different branches and MOS. We train units and individuals from across all three US Army components (Active, ARNG, and USAR), as well as joint personnel preparing to deploy as advisors. We conduct training across the United States, and execute outreach across the globe.
The Tiger Battalion offers unparalleled opportunities for officers and NCOs of all ranks. Many Tiger alumni report service in the Tiger Battalion as one of the most rewarding experiences of their careers. The predictable schedule affords ample time to pursue education, recreation, and family goals. Personnel preparing to pursue key developmental jobs find the experience great preparation for professional success, and those finishing key developmental jobs find the battalion a great place to reset and prepare for their next Army challenge.
Professionally, our mission and connection to the security cooperation and security force assistance community of interest affords our leaders with a rare chance to understand and contribute directly to our Army's strategic roles in competition and conflict. Our personnel frequently solve problems well beyond the scope of most Army battalions, and interact frequently with senior personnel. Moreover, serving in the Tiger Battalion allows ambitious leaders an opportunity to become subject matter experts in the realms of training, interpersonal skills, and SC/SFA doctrine; all while interacting in a combined arms environment with training audiences possessing a vast array of experiences. Our personnel experience excellent rates of promotion to the next grade, and enjoy ample opportunities to pursue professional schooling. Our location on Fort Polk affords many advantages for those interested in pursuing follow-on assignments as an Observer-Controller-Trainer at JRTC; or operational duties in 3/10 Mountain, 1-509 Infantry (Geronimo), 1/5 Aviation, 46 Engineers, 519 Military Police, or within the Garrison. Our relationship with the SFAC has also afforded many of our leaders with a chance to serve in one of the Army's Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFAB); the premier professional development opportunity for those who want to continue leading Soldiers.
