Rittenhouse takes command of DLA Distribution Tobyhanna

TOBYHANNA ARMY DEPOT, Pa. --Lt. Col. Michael Rittenhouse assumes command of DLA Distribution Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, during a change of command ceremony. Brig. Gen. Susan Davidson, commander of DLA Distribution, officiated at the event.

The new commander entered the military as an enlisted Soldier in the Army Reserve assigned to a unit in Harrisburg, Pa. He later transitioned to the Minnesota National Guard and ultimately received an active Army commission through ROTC upon graduation from Minnesota State University-Mankato, Minn.

Throughout his career, the colonel has served in a variety of leadership roles. He has participated in deployments or exercises in Kuwait, Korea, Qatar and Iraq, and served as the first III Corps Presidential Support Team officer in charge to President George W. Bush.

Rittenhouse received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management in 1995 while at Minnesota State. He also graduated from Long Island University in 2003 with a master's of Education in Counseling, with emphasis in Organizational Psychology and Leadership Development.

DLA Distribution Tobyhanna receives, stores and issues systems ranging from communications; command, control and computers; and intelligence/electronic warfare to satellite communications systems in its Wholesale Distribution Operations Division. The Retail Distribution Operations Division performs supply, storage, material movement and distribution responsibilities in direct support of the various workloads at Tobyhanna. The organization also handles special electronics operations such as the electro-static discharge control program.
