U.S. Army Paratrooper dies in Italy (follow-up)

VICENZA, Italy -- A U.S. Army Paratrooper assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade was found deceased in his on-post residence on Aug. 19, 2017.

Pfc. Andrew Young, 21, of Dallas, Ore. entered the military on Sep. 8, 2015 as an Infantryman. He has been assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade since Jan. 27, 2016.

Young's awards and decorations include the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Parachutist's Badge, among others. Posthumously, Young was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal.

The incident is still under investigation by Italian and U.S. officials.
