FORT BENNING, Ga., (May 18, 2016) -- The Maneuver Center of Excellence inducted four Soldiers in to the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club May 13.
The new inductees are Sgt. 1st Class Rosalio Ramirez, Staff Sgt. Joseph Kozlinski, Sgt. 1st Class Jeremy Lemma and Staff Sgt. John Hilburn.
The club recognizes NCOs in the ranks of corporal through sergeant first class who display exemplary leadership. Audie Murphy, the organization's namesake, is the most decorated Soldier in American history. He received the Medal of Honor during World War II and also a battlefield commission.
"The club represents the highest example of leadership in the Army," said Lemma, who is assigned to 6th Ranger Training Battalion. He competed in three Best Ranger Competitions and won in 2015.
Ramirez, a drill sergeant with 2nd Battalion, 58th Infantry Regiment, said becoming a member of the club required battalion, brigade and MCoE boards and a Thursday study group.
Hilburn, now assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas, earned the membership while assigned to 2nd Bn., 19th Inf. Regt. He said membership is a way to give back to the Army.
Kozlinski, assigned to 2nd Bn., 19th Inf. Regt., agreed with the other inductees about supporting the Army and developing leaders through membership.
Master Sgt. Steven Valvano Jr., the guest speaker for the induction and club vice president, summed up the ceremony with "A huge congrats to the newest members of the Audie Murphy Club who will continue ... to coach, teach and mentor junior Soldiers."
