AMC announces summer hire opportunities

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- The U.S. Army Materiel Command is looking for a few good students to join the headquarters this summer.

AMC announced its' student trainee position on USAJobs, Jan. 27. The command plans to hire current high school or college students to work at AMC headquarters during their summer break.

The job announcement is part of the "AMC 1,000." A command-wide initiative to ignite a passion for federal service by providing 1,000 internships or outreach opportunities across the command each year for the next five years. These internships will introduce college and high school students to the enormous number of opportunities available to them in the U.S. Army and at AMC.

"For me the best part of working for AMC has been the environment and the people," said Damian Moorehead a summer hire with the Chief Information Office. "It has been a great learning opportunity and I will value it for the rest of my life."

Last year, AMC exceeded the goal of 1,000 and provided over 1,200 opportunities.

The paid positions are open to current high school or college students with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Applicants can apply until Feb. 10. For more information, see the announcement on USAJobs.gov.
