Fort Sill's intramural basketball program showcased some strong offenses and a couple close games in a full slate of contests. Below is a brief summary of games played Feb. 12, 13 and 19.
Feb. 12
168 BSB vs. 1-14 FA
The 168th Brigade Support Battalion rode a balanced scoring attack led by Joshua Robinson's 11 points as they eased by 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery, 47-29. Quinton Johnson dropped in 10 points to lead the field artillerymen.
H/31 ADA vs. A/3-13 FA
Patrick Dotson and Devin Seamon combined for 27 points to carry A Battery, 3rd Battalion, 13th Field Artillery to a 52-45 victory over Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 31st Air Defense Artillery. Anthony Thompson poured in a game high 19 for ADA.
H/2-2 FA vs. B/2-2 FA
Damien Carter's 16 points and Marquay Edmonson's 14 points led Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Field Artillery to a 60-49 victory over B Battery, 2-2nd FA. Ryan Winner had the hot hand with 20 points including four 3-pointers for B Battery.
571 FSC vs. C/3-6 ADA
The 571st Forward Support Company offense ran away from C Battery, 3rd Battalion, 6th ADA 55-33. Arthur Maples' 14 points and Robert Williams' even dozen led a scoring attack that included many from their roster. Kelly Young fired in 14 points for the air defenders.
100 BSB vs. B/2-6 ADA
The 100th Brigade Support Battalion dialed in long distance rattling home seven 3-pointers to overwhelm B Battery, 2nd Battalion, 6th ADA, 64-31. Jeffrey Acosta hit for 14 points to lead the charge, and Kenneth King netted 10 points. Andrew Zanotti matched that point total to pace his ADA team.
B/3-6 ADA vs. A/1-56 ADA
A Battery, 1st Battalion 56th ADA's Carlo Sandiego scored at will putting up 22 points including five-of-five from the free throw line as the ADA men rolled up a 59-43 trouncing of B Battery, 3-6th ADA. Brett Bernier contributed 19 for the victors. James Smith nailed a cool 20 points for B/3-6th ADA, while teammate Carl Blocker hit four treys from beyond the arc.
Feb. 13
A/1-56 ADA vs. 571 FSC
A/1-56th ADA's Carlo Sandiego delivered 20 points en route to a 44-40 win offsetting a "rear echelon" shooting night for the 571st FSC that rained in eight 3-pointers. Robert Williams' 13 points topped the FSC sharpshooters.
100 BSB vs. C/1-56 ADA
Several 100th Brigade Support Battalion players contributed to a 42-29 win against C Battery, 1-56th ADA. Tony Kaintz dropped in nine points, and Benjamin McKinney and Vernon Harris each contributed eight points for the support Soldiers.
Feb. 19
B/3-6 ADA vs. D2-6 ADA
In another clash of air defenders, B/3-6th ADA trounced D/2-6 ADA 48-21. James Smith led the charge for the B team as he drained 15 points. Justin Davis tallied nine points for the D cells.
2-4th FA vs. H/214
2nd Battalion, 4th Field Artillery had the big guns zeroed in as they pummeled Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 214th Fires Brigade 54-30. Jordan Hill and Andrew Muldrow teamed up for 25 points for the victors. James Kendlick's 10 points led the 214th.
H/2-6 ADA vs. 571 FSC
Two high octane offenses fueled a high scoring affair as the 571st FSC cruised to a 54-44 win over Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2-6th ADA. Robert Williams and Richard Dean ruled from beyond the 3-point arc as they knocked down seven treys and 25 points together to lead the 571st.
James Kelly had 14 points and Tavaar Robertson chipped in a dozen for the air defenders.
H/2-5 FA vs. 168 BSB
The 168th BSB and Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2-5th FA battled to a 39-all draw that required an extra period. In the third stanza, BSB defenders shut down the FAoffense just enough to eke out a 45-44 victory. Josh Robinson poured in 14 points for BSB, while Anterogious Bolton's game high 16 points led the artillerymen.
DFAC vs. C/3-6 ADA
Fernando Taylor and Vincent Hodge served up a hearty helping of offense as the Dining Facility Chefs beat C/3-6th ADA 51-32. Kevin Bates was cooking too as he scored a baker's dozen to lead ADA.
H/1-14th FA vs. B/2-2 FA
Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 1-14th FA used an aggressive, attack the basket offense to slip by B/2-2nd FA 53-47. Rashawn Morris scored a game high 18 points, and Terry Saunders added 14 for the victors. Eric Buchholz tossed in several big deuces as his strong low-post game netted 12 points for the field artillerymen.
