The Army Ground Forces Band performed two holiday concerts, Dec. 18, 2012, at the Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh, N.C. Both performances were given before a "full house" in the 1,600 seat venue. The concerts were part of a five-concert series throughout North Carolina and featured the Tri County Honors Chorus with 150 high school students from Cumberland, Hoke and Harnett counties in North Carolina.

Prior to the evening concert, which was attended by the Raleigh mayor and media, the FORSCOM Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Leslie J. Carroll, administered the oath of enlistment to 20 future Soldiers.

The Army Ground Forces Band is under the direction of Capt. Daniel Toven. Based at Fort Bragg, the 64-member Army Ground Forces Band and its various ensembles perform about 300 concerts a year at local, regional, and national events and hold master classes and clinics at high schools and colleges around the country. Soldiers assigned to the band have passed highly selective auditions and are among the finest musicians in the Army Band Program.
