Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., toured the Detention Facility in Parwan October 16, 2012, to gain an understanding of detention operations in Afghanistan. The tour was guided by Lt. Gen. Keith M. Huber, commander, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435, and Col. Robert M. Taradash, commander, Task Force Protector. CJIATF 435 oversees all detainee operations in Afghanistan. Task Force Protector personnel ensure the secure and humane care, custody and control of the detainees within the facility.
