LIVORNO, Italy -- The 405th Army Field Support Brigade commander and command sergeant major paid a visit to the 405th Army Field Support Battalion-Italy Aug 2 to be briefed on its mission and to meet with local nationals, Army civilians and military personnel.

"It is amazing the amount of work you do here," said Col. Christopher Roscoe, commander, 405th ASFB. "I look forward to doing whatever I can to help make your difficult job an easier one."

Command Sgt. Maj. Bryan Kroontje was amazed at the mission the battalion continues to execute involving MRAPs (Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected military vehicles), humanitarian aid and the support it provides European and African customers.

Roscoe and Kroontje took command and responsibility of the 405th AFSB July 12.
