During a recent visit to Redstone Arsenal, Dr. Marilyn M. Freeman, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army For Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (second from left) visited with the scientists and engineers of the Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center to see the work they are doing to support Soldiers.
One of her stops was to the AMRDEC's Propulsion and Structures Technology, where Dr. Jay Lilley (left) Chief, Propulsion Technology, discusses his team's efforts which include rocket motor testing, engine oil development for the Shadow Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, and electronic propulsion.
Senior AMRDEC leaders hosting Dr. Freeman were Dr. Robin Buckelew, Director of the Weapons Development and Integration Directorate (2nd row, left); Stephen Cornelius, (front right) AMRDEC Director for Missile Development; and William Colson, AMRDEC Acting Deputy Director (2nd row, right).
During Dr. Freeman's final stop she toured the AMRDEC Prototype Integration Facility and saw displays of the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System, Precision Fires Manager, the Deployable Force Protection and Small Organic Precision Munition S&T Programs and the Kinetic Energy Active Protection System.
