What could be more rewarding than making sure that everyone has at least one gift to open over the holidays?

That's the idea behind the "2011 Angel Tree Program" run by Army Community Service at Natick Soldier Systems Center.

The program offers individuals a chance to provide one-time assistance to NSSC Soldiers, Civilians and Families in need over the holidays. This year, ACS also opened the program to unaccompanied/single Soldiers at Natick.

How can you help? Stop by the Angel Tree situated in the lobby of Carney Hall (Building 1) Friday, Dec. 2, after the Tree Lighting Ceremony or in Room A-122 the following week and select an angel containing gift information. Simply bring the unwrapped gift to the ACS office (Room A-122) by Friday, Dec. 16.

"People can continue to pick up angels after (December 2), if any remain," Richard said. "The Natick workforce always impresses me with their overwhelming support of this program. I never seem to have enough angels to distribute."

According to Richard, however, the need has continued to grow.

"This year, we have 49 angels, which is almost double last year's," Richard said. "We have active-duty Families from here at Natick, Wounded Warrior Families, single Soldiers and Civilians, which is also a broader population than last year. Last year, we only had Soldier Families apply from Natick."
