FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii -- Air Force Lt. Col. Thomas A. Bell, captain of the Army, Air Force hockey team and Petty Officer 1st Class David Taylor, captain of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard hockey team present a hockey stick Nov. 8, to Lt. Gen. Francis J. Wiercinski, U.S. Army Pacific commander on behalf of the component commands across Oahu.
The hockey stick was used in Wounded Warriors Charity Hockey Game, held at Honolulu's Ice Palace Aug. 28. The charity event raised more than $15,000 towards the Wounded Warriors Project in Hawaii.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization that honors and empowers wounded warriors.
Wiercinski, who attended the game, said, "It was really impressive to watch the game, and I think it's so important what you guys do."
