Londonderry, N.H. -- The 428th Survey and Design Team honored 14 U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers departing for Afghanistan with a Mobilization Farewell Ceremony at Southern New Hampshire University, Oct. 28, 2011.
The surveyors will support Regional Command South, a multinational military command which is part of NATO's International Security Assistance Force.
Speakers at the event included U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte, State Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Chairman David Quinn, Brig. Gen. David Puster, commander 302nd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, the 428th's parent organization.
Before heading to Afghanistan, the Soldiers will spend approximately six weeks at Ft Bliss, Texas preparing for the overseas mission.
