Sgt. Maj. Michael Mosites, sergeant major of Deputy Commander-Regional Support, NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan/Combines Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, conducted a battlefield circulation Sept. 26-29 to Regional Support Command-West.

During the visit, Mosites visited an Afghan artillery park at Camp Zafar, a local military hospital, an Afghan Border Patrol barracks compound, a regional training center, Afghan Civil Order Police training, a warehouse for military clothing and equipment, a police training center, and what will be a future regional military training center at Shindand Airbase.

Mosites said he was impressed with what he saw and observed, especially with the new builds incorporating Adobe-style construction. These type of builds reduce costs and provide the Afghan National Security Forces with sustainable, locally repairable construction offering easier maintenance which generate lower lifecycle costs.
