CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait-- Third Army welcomes its new director of logistics and commanding general for Army Materiel Command South West Asia, Brigadier General Karen LeDoux, a native of Independence, Mo. She joins Third Army after a successful tour as the commanding general for the 94th Division (Force Sustainment), Fort Lee, Va.
After graduating from Central Missouri State University, LeDoux was commissioned in 1982 as an Ordnance Corps 2nd Lieutenant.
Her first duty assignment in 1983 was with the 1st Armored Division, 123rd Maintenance Battalion in Germany where she served as the company executive officer for B Co.
After Ten years active duty, she transferred to the Army Reserves where she served in many positions from equal opportunity advisor, battalion operations, logistic civil augmentation program, and director of personnel. Her commands include 55th Sustainment Brigade, 103rd Expeditionary Support Command and 94th Division (Force Sustainment).
Over the span of nearly three decades, LeDoux served in more than a dozen duty assignments.
LeDoux and her family continue to serve and sacrifice their time and efforts through her commitment to the military and Third Army's mission.
LeDoux has spent her adult life working to defend our country and protect the freedoms of American citizens. During her tenure here, LeDoux will assist with the presidential directive of ensuring the responsible redeployment, repositioning, and reposturing of troops and equipment from Iraq as well as supporting surge recovery operations in Afghanistan.
As we approach the Dec. 31 repositioning of forces, her job here as the AMC SWA commanding general and ARCENT G4, will be imperative in supporting this important transition and educating Third Army's partner nations on the retrograde of equipment.
