FORT STEWART, Ga. - Cloudy skies and a less-than-encouraging weather forecast that called for afternoon thundershowers persuaded a few buyers and sellers to pass up the Great MWR Yard Sale at Fort Stewart, April 16.

But the rain held off. Soon after, the sale started at 8 a.m. Their were plenty of bargains to be found and lots of folks looking for those bargains.

Electronics, movies on DVDs, furniture, clothing for young and old alike, appliances - even a few prom dresses - were up for sale at the Club Stewart parking lot. If you thought about it, it was there, including plants and herbs.

The Great MWR Yard Sales, held in the spring and the fall at Stewart and Hunter, are popular attractions. One customer drawn to the sale was Lyn Randolph, who said she has been going to yard and garage sales nearly every weekend since 1973. She said she wasn't looking for anything in particular at the Stewart sale and "sometimes I don't even buy anything, added Randolph."

She laughed as she said, "I don't even know why I come to these sales anymore. I just do."
