IMCOM-SE: where we've been, where we're going

Installation Management Command-Southeast Region (IMCOM-SE) is located in Bldg. 171 at Fort McPherson and has the critical mission of managing Army installations in the southeastern United States, Puerto Rico and Honduras.

IMCOM-SE provides all base operations, public works and Family support programs, ensuring the readiness of Soldiers, Families and military units.

IMCOM-SE has more than 15,000 employees and manages a $2.2 billion annual operating budget.

IMCOM-SE is one of six regions under the Installation Management Command (IMCOM), which is headquartered at San Antonio. IMCOM-SE was first organized as the Installation Management Agency (IMA) in 2002.

In 2006, IMCOM-SE was activated as a three-star command that includes the former IMA, the former Community and Family Support Center and the former Army Environmental Center under a single command as a direct reporting unit. IMCOM-SE's mission is to provide Soldiers, Civilian employees and their Families with a quality of life commensurate with the quality of their service.

It's vision is that Army installations are the DoD standard for infrastructure quality and are the provider of consistent, quality services that are a force multiplier in supported organizations' mission accomplishment, and materially enhance Soldier and Family well-being and readiness. IMCOM-SE provides facilities, programs and services required to support Army readiness, sustain the all-volunteer force and provide the infrastructure for current and future mission requirements.

The command accomplishes this support through its focus on six lines of effort: Soldier, Family and Civilian readiness; Soldier, Family and Civilian well-being; leader and workforce development; installation readiness; safety; and energy and water efficiency and security and by inculcating sustainable Army Communities of Excellence principles throughout its business processes and procedures.

IMCOM-SE supervises garrisons within the southeastern region of the U.S. and provides direction, guidance and program oversight of all installation management services. The region director, David Tindoll Jr., serves as the senior mentor for all Civilian employees within the region and provides guidance on workforce development, training and career progression.

He also partners with senior commanders to ensure garrisons implement senior commander priorities and requirements, perform within allocated resources and resolve issues at the lowest level in compliance with IMCOM-SE guidance.

The IMCOM-SE team currently supports Anniston Army Depot, Ala.; Blue Grass Army Depot, Ky.; Fort Benning; Fort Bragg, N.C.; Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico; Fort Campbell, Ky.; Fort Gordon; Fort Jackson, S.C.; Fort Knox, Ky.; Fort McPherson; Fort Polk, La.; Fort Rucker, Ala.; Fort Stewart; Holston Army Ammunition Plant, Tenn.; Milan Army Ammunition Plant, Tenn.; Mississippi Army Ammunition Plant; Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point, N.C.; Pine Bluff Arsenal, Ark.; Redstone Arsenal, Ala.; U.S. Army Garrison, Miami; and the Army Support Activity, Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras.

IMCOM-SE is scheduled to re-locate to Fort Eustis, Va., later this year and part of overall IMCOM realignment actions. It will merge with the Northeast Region to form the Atlantic Region, which will continue our mission.
