REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- More than 300 deployed Soldiers will receive a shipment of personal items by Christmas, thanks to the generosity of an AMCOM office.

Members of the business management office, in the Integrated Materiel Management Center, donated everything from hygiene products to snacks for a group of troops in Kirkuk, Iraq. They responded to a request from their co-worker Larry Cunningham, who is working in Iraq with the Soldiers.

"So, we went to work as a group and gathered all this stuff to send to the Soldiers over there supporting the war," Kay O'Neal, chief of budget and pay for the office's business resource division, said, "hoping that they'll have some good holiday cheers."

Her dentist donated toothbrushes and dental floss. A donation also came from a local bookstore; and a department store contributed cologne. Most of the items - including lotions, soap, games, magazines and snacks - came from about 17 office members themselves.

"And we anticipate doing this again around Valentines," O'Neal said.

They boxed the items Dec. 6 for shipment that afternoon.
