SCHINNEN, Netherlands - The USAG Schinnen Army Community Service will hold an Employment & Education Fair, Wednesday, May 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., JFC Conference Center in Brunssum.
Whether you are a military spouse or family member looking for a career, an active duty military about to separate or retire, if you want to find out about educational opportunities in the Tri-border area, then the Employment & Education Fair is the place to be.
The Employment & Education Fair is a joint effort between USAG Schinnen's ACS and GK's Airmen and Family Readiness Center (AFRC), to bring hiring officials and potential employees face to face. It's an opportunity to see what positions are currently open or projected, to explore different career paths, and to ask questions.
Local employers who will be present include AAFES, Commissary, Andrews Federal Credit Union, Community Bank, DFMWR/Child, Youth and School Services, AFNORTH International School, NATEX, GK CDC, and others. They can explain current and upcoming jobs available and the procedures for applying.
This is a chance to talk to hiring officials about benefits and explore careers you may not have even considered.
A few Government contractors will be there recruiting for positions in the US and throughout Europe, some right here in Tri-Border area. These include Northrup Grumman (technical services), Hyperion, Inc (IT positions), Aspen consulting (Administrative, medical), ITT Systems Corporation (OPMAS-E Project), and MPRI, an L-3 Division (Intel, IT, military training) and possibly others. It's a great chance to explore options for when military commitments end.
Information promoting positions with other agencies both locally and stateside, such as Amazon, American K9 Detection Services, FMWR Mystery Shopper, JFC Language Program, and Thrift Shop will be available.
For those wishing to update skills and continue their education, representatives from Central Texas College, University of Maryland, University of Oklahoma, and Embry Riddle University will be present to discuss degrees offered, upcoming classes, and registration procedures.
The Schinnen Education Center will have experts available to answer questions and provide information on the new GI Bill, scholarships, Military Spouse Career Accounts (MyCAA), computer lab, and testing programs.
You can even look for volunteer opportunities, speak with the Equal Employment Officer, or have your resume reviewed.
