Hundreds of Sand Hill Soldiers attended the Columbus Lions game for military appreciation night Saturday at the Columbus Civic Center.

The basic trainees were brought on the field for different occasions during the event. The military was represented elsewhere with music - a Soldier's wife sang the national anthem and God Bless America and the band played a melody from all branches of service.

CSM William Morgan, 197th Infantry Brigade command sergeant major, gave a pre-game speech. MG Michael Ferriter, post commanding general, and CSM Chris Hardy, post command sergeant major, did the coin toss. The Lions defeated the Lafayette Wildcatters 54-26.
