HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - At an awards dinner conducted April 6 at the Von Braun Center here, Michael Connolly, director, Army Space Personnel Development Office, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command, was recognized by the Redstone-Huntsville Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) for his work as a Department of the Army Civilian.

Connolly earned the award as the top DA Civilian of the Year for 2010 from USASMDC/ARSTRAT in the "Management/Executive" category, as selected by AUSA Redstone-Huntsville Chapter. Besides Connolly, 19 other DA civilians were also recognized at the event in his category and two others - "Professional/Technical" and "Supporting Staff."

The overall winner, Lisha G. Adams, principal deputy G-3 at the Army Aviation and Missile Command, was ultimately recognized as the Redstone-Huntsville Chapter AUSA Civilian of the Year. Adams competed in the "Management/Executive" category.

Adams will go forward to the third AUSA region for its competition as a representative of AUSA Redstone-Huntsville Chapter. From there, the regional winner will go on to compete for the national title.
