ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. - Col. Jeanne Hooper said her Nov. 23 visit to the depot provided her with a perspective of depot maintenance essential to her job as TACOM Life Cycle Management Command Chief of Staff, a post she was assigned to in September. Hooper comes to TACOM LCMC after serving three tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

"I had the opportunity to see that Anniston is a first-class Army depot with highly skilled, highly motivated TACOM team members who realize that the quality of their products and services directly affects the warfighter," said Hooper.

TACOM is the depot's higher headquarters based in Warren, Mich. As one of the LCMCs under Army Materiel Command, TACOM unites all of the organizations that focus on Soldier and ground combat systems.

Depot Chief of Staff Phillip Trued accompanied Hooper on her tour of the depot's Nichols Industrial Complex, which included stops at the five-acre combat vehicle facility and its support shops: Powertrain Flexible Maintenance Facility, Small Arms Rebuild Center, and shops in the Turbine Engine Value Stream.

"We are very proud of the work we do to equip our Soldiers and Marines, and Col. Hooper saw America's best in the area of depot maintenance," said Trued.

The TACOM chief of staff also met with employees in the facility that houses repair work on battle-damaged Strykers as well as the depot's Career Academy, a campus where students learn trades as part of a cooperative education program.
