FORT BELVOIR, Va. (Army News Service, Nov. 20, 2009) -- Three finalists in the "Operation Rising Star" singing competition were announced Thursday after online votes were tabulated.

An Army wife, a chaplain and an Air Force servicemember advanced into Friday's finals at Fort Belvoir.

The winner of the Army Entertainment Division-produced competition will be announced Saturday during the "Reveal" show on the Pentagon channel.

The show will air at 9 p.m. Saturday in the United States, Europe and Korea. Viewers in Iraq and Afghanistan can watch it at 10 p.m. Saturday on the Pentagon Channel.

The final free live performance will actually take place today at Fort Belvoir's Wallace Theater.

The finalists are Lisa Pratt of Fort Carson, Colo.; Capt. Donald Williamson of Bamberg, Germany; and Airman 1st Class Jamie Jarman, who qualified at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Three other finalists were eliminated Thursday: Thea Agnew of Fort Campbell, Ky.; Sam Tang of Fort Irwin, Calif.; and Staff Sgt. Chad Kneller of Fort Bragg, N.C.

Pratt sang Faith Hill's "There Will Come a Day" in the second round of semifinal competition Monday at Wallace Theater, where the show was filmed by the Pentagon Channel.

Williamson, a chaplain at the U.S. Army Garrison in Bamberg, sang Josh Groban's "You Lift Me Up." Jarman performed Roberta Flack's classic "Killing Me Softly With His Song."

Agnew sang Trisha Yearwood's "How Do I Live." Tang sang Jennifer Hudson's "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going," and Kneller performed "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith.
