Applications for the 2010 Our Future Scholarship and 2010 Educational Grant are now available at www.ourfamilyfoundation.org.
Applications for the Our Future Scholarships are due Feb. 26 and will be awarded to high school seniors attending a four-year university or college. The scholarships are worth $40,000 each. The foundation will select 10 children of active-duty Soldiers at forts Meade, Bragg, Polk, Rucker, Riley, Sill and Aberdeen Proving Ground to receive the scholarships based on merit and need. Recipients of a scholarship will be notified by March 31.
Applications for 2010 Educational Grants must be received no later than May 28.
Grants are given in amounts up to $5,000 for the spouse of an active-duty Soldier at the installations listed above.
Applicants may be in any stage of the educational process. Recipients of a grant will be notified by June 30.
Applications and all necessary paperwork for both the scholarship and educational grant must be complete and postmarked by the due date to be considered. Awards for both the scholarship and grant are for use beginning in fall 2010. Applications are now available online.
The completed application should be submitted to the Our Family for Families First office, according to the direction on the application. Please check out the Web site at www.ourfamilyfoundation.org for more information about the application process or to download forms.
Families do not have to reside in on-post housing to qualify for scholarships or grants.
The foundation has awarded more than $2 million since 2006.
