FORT JACKSON, S.C. -- Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Pry is a self-described "family man."

His wife Stephanie and their children have had the most influence on his military career and they embody his most cherished memories.

"My wife and kids are everything to me. I couldn't do this job without them," the drill sergeant said.

Pry, who has been in the Army for 18 years, wants to have at least 20 years under his belt before retiring from the Army.

He then plans to pursue a bachelor's degree.

In his Army career, Pry has deployed to Kosovo, Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan.

His past assignments include the 25th Infantry Division at Hawaii; the 148th Infantry Regiment at Macon, Ga.; the 1st Infantry Division in Germany; and the 10th Mountain Division in New York.

He advises junior enlisted Soldiers to: "Keep going even through tough times. Don't quit - the rewards are great at the finish line."

And, "if a door of opportunity opens, step through and except the challenge," Pry said.

We Salute You!
