WASHINGTON — The U.S. Army wants more eligible Soldiers to take advantage of the Army Continuation Pay program. It provides a significant financial incentive for eligible Soldiers enrolled in the Blended Retirement System to continue their service.
“Army Continuation Pay is a win-win,” said Sgt. Maj. Enrique Rose, the Senior Army Career Counselor. “By recognizing the dedication of our Soldiers, this program ensures the Army continues to benefit from their talent and experience as we prepare for the future.”
ACP is a one-time, mid-career bonus designed to encourage Soldiers to remain in the Army and continue contributing their valuable skills and experience. For 2025, eligibility is focused on Soldiers with eight to twelve years of service, calculated from their pay entry basic date.
The financial benefits of ACP are substantial. Active component Soldiers, including those serving in Active Guard Reserve and full time Support roles, are eligible for a continuation pay multiplier of 2.5 times their monthly basic pay. National Guard and Reserve Soldiers in a drilling status are also eligible for ACP, receiving a multiplier ranging from 0.5 to six times their monthly basic pay.
It provides a significant lump-sum payment that can be used for personal or family financial goals.
Soldiers interested in learning more about ACP eligibility, application procedures and the Blended Retirement System should contact their unit career counselor or visit the Army Benefits website.
