VICENZA, Italy — Registering a vehicle in Vicenza has become easier with the U.S. Army Garrison Italy's launch of a new online system. The system eliminates paperwork and reduces wait times, according to Larry Avancini, operations manager for the garrison's Directorate of Emergency Services.

"Our goal is to leverage technology to make this process as seamless as possible," Avancini said. "This new system will free up valuable time for both our employees and our customers."

The online platform guides users through each registration step. Users can access the secure application remotely, enter personal and vehicle details, and submit the form electronically. Applicants then receive an email confirmation with instructions to securely send scanned copies of required documents, such as proof of identity and vehicle ownership.

Upon document verification, applicants receive another email with appointment details, license plate information, and further instructions. Vehicle insurance is required before the plate pick-up appointment.

"This new system will empower our personnel to complete their registrations from anywhere, at any time, significantly reducing the time and effort required," said Col. Scott Horrigan, U.S. Army Garrison Italy commander.

“The system currently focuses on vehicles shipped from the U.S. through the Vehicle Processing Center and Armed Forces Italy (AFI) to AFI transfers, meaning those already in Italy transferring a vehicle currently in the AFI system,” said Serena Bianco of Vicenza Vehicle Registration.
