WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M. (February 13, 2025) – White Sands Missile Range Recruiters attended The University of Texas at El Paso's career fair to connect with local job seekers. The two-day event occurred on Thursday, Feb. 6, and Friday, Feb. 7, at the Tomas Rivera Conference Center on the UTEP campus.

The career fair presented a valuable opportunity for students, recent graduates, alums, and community members to explore various career paths, including civil service at White Sands Missile Range. Specifically, the White Sands Test Center is a part of the Army Test and Evaluation Command located near Las Cruces and El Paso.

"WSMR received many great resumes for review," said Dianna McDaniel, Human Resource Specialist at White Sands Missile Range. "We were able to continue to spread the word about the great opportunities available at WSMR, including the many internship programs hosted by ATEC-WSMR."

Internship Opportunities at WSMR

White Sands Missile Range Recruiters attended The University of Texas at El Paso's career fair to connect with local job seekers. The two-day event occurred on Thursday, Feb. 6, and Friday, Feb. 7, at the Tomas Rivera Conference Center on the UTEP campus.

Summer internships are available for current students through the Department of the Army in the form of a Student Intern Program, locally as a Summer Student Trainee, and through the Test Resource Management Center.

Year-round opportunities also exist for recent graduates through the Department of the Army's Army Fellows Program and local opportunities as a Developmental Local Intern.

Additionally, WSMR is a Sponsoring Facility for the Department of Defense's Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation also known as SMART, Scholarship-for-Service program. Recently, SMART added an opportunity known as SMART DELLUMS, which allows seniors in high school to apply for the scholarship program. The application period for most of these opportunities occurs in the fall months, usually August-December.
