Welcome to Italy! Our purpose is to help familiarize you and your family to living as a member of the USAG Italy military community and local Italian life as a whole.

These resources are focused on settling in upon arrival and life 'outside the gate', beyond the Vicenza PCS Guides and Darby PCS Guides.

Please visit our Cultural Connections site to learn about the towns around the Vicenza Military Community.

Altavilla: The town traces its origins to a castle (Rocca), now in ruins, that was built during the Middle Ages on a hill at the foot of the Colli Berici (the mountain range in the Vicenza area).

Arcugnano is home to the food company Bertagni, the oldest filled pasta producer in Italy.

Bolzano Vicentino: The Municipal Denomination (DE.CO. – Denominazione Comunale) is a prestigious recognition granted to a unique product intrinsically tied to a specific, small territory, one that cannot be imitated. It represents the essence of the land, the richness of tradition, and the distinctive craftsmanship involved in cultivating or producing them. Many years ago, in Bolzano Vicentino, a group of determined individuals worked tirelessly to secure a DE.CO. certification for something truly extraordinary and still unmatched in Italy: the Avannotto—fish fry.

Caldogno, known for Villa Caldogno Nordera, attributed to architect Andrea Palladio; and also for being the birthplace of Roberto Baggio, a famous Italian professional soccer player who is widely considered one of the greatest in the history of soccer.

Camisano Vicentino: Known for hosting the biggest town market in the Veneto region–the “mercato di Camisano”.

Creazzo: ‘Broccolo fiolaro’ is a unique variety of broccoli recognized as a typical Venetian product. It is cultivated on the hills surrounding Creazzo. The name originates from the dialect term ‘fioi’ (meaning “sons”), referring to the small inflorescences that grow along the stem. Broccoli is harvested from November to February.
