FORT CARSON, Colo. – Advisors from across the 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) gathered Nov. 22, 2024, for a spirited “Toy Ruck” event, bringing holiday cheer and supporting a meaningful cause.

Hosted by 3rd Squadron, 4th SFAB, the event combined fitness, fun, and giving back. Soldiers, families, and pets marched to Santa’s Workshop on Fort Carson, carrying toy donations for the Mountain Post Santa’s Workshop. The workshop is a needs-based organization ensuring children from six months to 12 years old receive gifts during the holiday season.

“This was a great opportunity to come together, get some exercise and support an important cause,” said Maj. Ryan Mortensen, 4th SFAB chaplain. “The holiday season is about giving, and seeing our Soldiers and Families participate enthusiastically is truly inspiring.”

The event was filled with festive energy as participants donned holiday-themed outfits and embraced the season's spirit. The toy donations will go directly to Fort Carson Families in need, helping to brighten the holidays for children within the Mountain Post community.

The Mountain Post Santa’s Workshop operates as a nonprofit organization, ensuring that every toy donated impacts local families. Events like the Toy Ruck highlight the 4th SFAB’s commitment to service, both on and off duty.
