Dear Team,
As I reflect on my time serving as the Provost Marshal General of the Army and Commanding General of Army Corrections Command, I am filled with deep gratitude for the incredible journey we have shared together. It has been an honor and privilege to lead and work alongside over 38,000 dedicated Military Police and Civilian professionals.
From my humble beginnings as a Soldier who enlisted in 1985 as a Military Policeman to reaching the pinnacle position an MP can hold, the Provost Marshal General of the Army, this journey has been nothing short of extraordinary! The opportunity to serve in this top position, entrusted with overseeing the strategic direction and operations of the Army's law enforcement, security, anti-terrorism, biometrics, forensics, and corrections forces, has been incredibly humbling.
It is with mixed emotions that I announce my next assignment as the Deputy Commanding General of Security Assistance Group-Ukraine. While I embark on this new chapter, I am confident that the exceptional team we have built together will continue to uphold the values of service and excellence.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Command Sgt. Maj. Shawn Klosterman, PMG Sergeant Major, and Brig. Gen. Shannon Lucas, D/PMG, as well the entire OPMG team for their unwavering dedication, leadership, and commitment to the mission. The team’s guidance and support have been invaluable throughout our time together, and their contribution to our team's success is truly commendable.
I would also like to welcome Brig. Gen. Sarah Albrycht, who will assume responsibilities as the Provost Marshal General and the Commanding General of Army Corrections Command effective 18 June 2024. I have full confidence in Brig. Gen. Albrycht's leadership and capabilities in carrying forward the important work we have accomplished together.
As we part ways, let us remember and hold close to our hearts the Army's motto, This We'll Defend, embodying the unwavering commitment to protect and defend our nation and its values. Furthermore, let us carry forward the Military Police Regimental motto, Assist, Protect, Defend, a constant reminder of our duty to safeguard and support those under our care.
As I bid farewell to this remarkable team, please know that the memories we have created and the achievements we have accomplished together will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for your unwavering commitment, hard work, and dedication to duty.
It has been an incredible journey, and I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to have served alongside such outstanding individuals. I have the utmost confidence in the continued success and excellence of this team in the future.
With deep respect and gratitude,
Duane R. Miller
