An upcoming online survey will assess how members of Team Redstone view this community’s holistic health and welfare.
The Community Strengths and Themes Assessment is scheduled April 1 through June 30. It happens every two years.
“This is for the entire Redstone community,” Bryan Copeland, the community readiness and resilience integrator at the Garrison, said. “It’s for service members, family members, civilians and retirees/veterans.
“This is the survey of the people. It allows community members to provide their thoughts and views on the quality of life, health, wellness, readiness and on programs and resources available where they live and work.”
He said this survey requirement has been suggested for every two years; and the last one was conducted April-June 2021.

Jon Strobel, deputy commander for clinical services at Fox Army Health Center, wait to hear reports from the CR2C working groups at an update March 31, 2023, in Bob Jones Auditorium.
“The Defense Centers for Public Health-Aberdeen developed this standardized CSTA, based on rigorous scientific requirements for assessment tools,” Copeland said. “It’s based on priorities for military community coalitions such as the Army commanders ready and resilience council, the Air Force community action and information board, and local working groups.”
Beginning April 1, people will be able to take the 35-question survey at the Community Strengths and Themes Assessment website.
“People should participate to let their voices be heard on what they want and need to better the holistic health, wellness and resiliency of their military community,” Copeland said.
After the 2021 survey, “what we did was identify the needs of the community. We took that information and developed new priorities to help the senior commander, installation leadership and installation resource providers support the needs and requests of the community.”
The senior commander’s quarterly community and resilience forum is scheduled April 12 from 3-4:15 p.m. in Bob Jones Auditorium. Attendees are to include the senior commander, the Garrison commander, the Army Materiel Command surgeon, the Fox Army Health Center commander or their designated representatives and the members of the Commander’s Ready and Resilient Council.
The Commander’s Ready and Resilient Council serves as the Redstone senior commander’s platform to fulfill the Army’s ready and resilient objectives. The council includes four working groups: Physical Health, Behavioral Health, Spiritual Resiliency, and Family and Social Resiliency.
