One of the traditions of Oktoberfest is to raise a large beer stein in front of you and see if you can hold it there longer than anybody else.

FORT KNOX, Ky. — The Fort Knox Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation drew a crowd of over 5,000 to its annual Oktoberfest celebration Sept. 22.

People from all walks of life came to Brooks Parade Field to enjoy steins of beer, soft pretzels, games and lots of festive German music. Spontaneous moments of laughter, singing, dancing, playing, eating, and “Prost!” could be seen throughout the five-hour celebration.

Some people showed at the event in traditional Bavarian attire.

One couple "stole the show" when they danced to the music of Schnickelfritz.

The Cleveland-based band Schnickelfritz played throughout the entire event at Oktoberfest. They come every year to entertain the partygoers.

Some donned their traditional Bavarian attire to get into the Alpine traditions. Back by popular demand, the band Schnickelfritz played a variety of music, from pop and rock favorites to the traditional Bavarian music that is popular at Oktoberfest.
