United Through Reading is easing the stress of separation for military families while instilling a love of reading through their nationally-acclaimed program. The United Through Reading Military Program facilitates the bonding experience of reading aloud together by having deployed parents read children's books aloud via DVD. The DVD is then sent to their child to watch. Children experience extreme stress while separated from parents, affecting their relationships and their ability to learn. United Through Reading has founded a powerful program to allow members of a family to stay connected despite the thousands of miles they may be from one another. All deploying military units have access to United Through Reading and the program is also available at select USO locations.
