FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz.,--This month the Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) Team celebrated Ms. Joretta (Joey) K. Fuller’s retirement as she now leaves the federal work force after 22.5 years of combined military and civil service.

Fuller spent 5 years in the military before becoming a DA civilian with NETCOM. Likewise, Fuller spent her last 17.5 years of federal service with NETCOM.

Her jobs at NETCOM included working at the Europe Desk Office, Current Operations and she culminates her career serving with NETCOM’s Training and Exercise team.

Joining and speaking at the event via video was former NETCOM Commanding General and the current Army G6, Lt. Gen. John B. Morrison Jr. General Morrison talked about Joey’s contributions to the Army, focusing on her infectious positive attitude, regardless of the stress level of those around her. Mrs. Morrison echoed the sentiment, and they both wished Joey the very best in her retirement.

According to Fuller, she appreciated working at NETCOM very much as she recalled her past achievements.

“I enjoyed mentoring others around and across the command when it came to managing the Digital Training Management System (DTMS) and I also enjoyed traveling with the Organizational Inspection Team (OIP) as well,” said Fuller.

Not only did Fuller recall her achievements but her coworkers also recalled her success during the comments portion of the event.

“What you did for NETCOM and DTMS contributed greatly to the Army's transition to a Digital environment. I thank you personally and on Behalf of those working on DTMS here at Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC),” said Charles Ostrand, Branch Chief at TRADOC.

“Joey, you will be missed, both professionally and personally. Your work with DTMS at this time in the history has been truly historic,” said Ostrand.

At her virtual retirement ceremony today, Fuller thanked everyone and said her farewells as she recalled the good times while working at NETCOM.

“It has been my absolute honor to have worked with so many extraordinary people and I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank each and every one of you for all that you do every day. You have been my work family,” said Fuller.

“We have shared many wonderful experiences, marriages, newborns, unexpected losses, and quite a few laughs which I hope will continue in the years to come even though I will not be right here.”

“I am truly humbled to have worked with such a dedicated, passionate, and professional group of people throughout the NETCOM community around the globe, who have given so much of their lives in defense of this great Nation and I would like to commend each of you for just that,” said Fuller.

Before saying her final goodbye’s Fuller reminded everyone to stay motivated and mission focused.

“I ask that you continue to attack the tough issues, push the envelope, and provide all of our Soldiers the best support there is to offer. They deserve nothing less than the best support that we can give them!! I know you will do just that!”

“Thank you again for your support and I pray God continues to bless you, your families, and this wonderful Nation!! As they say..... Good friends never say goodbye, they simply say “See you soon" and I truly hope so,” said Fuller.

Well wishes came immediately after the ceremony with dozens of coworkers expressing their gratitude and farewells to Joey via chats and social media.

“Joey - your impacts go far and wide, both professionally and personally. People like you make a difference every day to both the mission of the Army and to people in general,” said Lt. Col. Joseph Gilbert, NETCOM Assistant Chief of Staff G-3.

“Your amazing accomplishments have left the Army and NETCOM in a much better place thanks to you,” said Gilbert.
