ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Illinois - (Oct. 28, 2021) The Rock Island Arsenal hosted its Boo on the Rock / Truck or Treat celebration Oct. 28 in Heritage Hall and the Lock & Lounge area to an extreme success. The event included trick or treating that walked around the circumference of Heritage Hall among more than 20 tables that transformed into elaborate Halloween themed displays and manned by costumed employees who eagerly passed out candy and goodies to participants.
Hundreds of families filtered through the gauntlet of displays over the course of the evening and then made their way over to the Lock & Dam Lounge area that featured fall vendors, a variety of food for purchase, and entertainment that included magicians, as well as a “haunted house” just to the outside of building.
The Trunk or Treat portion of the evening was held at tables, but still included the annual contest and three official winners who received trophies.
Army Contracting Command - Rock Island earned First Place with their “Field of Screams” themed display; U.S. Army Sustainment Command (G4 – Facilities and Logistics) earned Second Place with their display “Coco”; and Rock Island National Cemetery (National Cemetery Administration (NCA) U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs) earned Third Place with their cemetery themed display.
The Rock Island Arsenal FMWR made the entire event happen and did an incredible job coordinating and facilitating the event.
