The 2021 Combined Federal Campaign – an annual workplace giving campaign for federal employees and retirees to raise money for thousands of charities and people in need – officially kicks off Oct. 1 and runs through Jan. 15, 2022.
FORT KNOX, Ky. – Celebrating its 60th anniversary, the 2021 Combined Federal Campaign officially kicks off Oct. 1.
The CFC is an annual workplace giving campaign for federal employees and retirees to raise money for thousands of charities and people in need. According to Kentucky CFC zone manager Rebecca Vachon, this year’s campaign consists of more than 5,000 approved charities.
“All kinds of people benefit from the CFC and the work charities can do thanks to the contributions,” said Vachon. “Last year, the CFC raised nearly $83.6 million, and federal employees gave more than 86,700 hours of volunteer service.”
Vachon said this year’s campaign will run until Jan. 15, 2022. Those who wish to make contributions during the window can do so in a three ways.
“The main link to our site is givecfc.org,” said Vachon, “and then from there people can get to our donation site.”
She said in addition to donating directly through their main site, the CFC Mobile Giving App can also be downloaded by searching ‘CFC giving’ on any device’s app store.
The third way to donate is by setting up a military allotment or civilian payroll deduction, where contributions can be spread throughout the calendar year. Federal employees can obtain pledge forms from their respective unit or organization campaign coordinator.
Contributors can search for individual charities and causes on the CFC website by category, military installation or general location to select a specific recipient.
Since its inception in 1961, the CFC reports it has raised more than $8.5 billion to support local, national and international charities.
