WIESBADEN, Germany – After serving the Army for more than 36 years, Col. Todd Fish, deputy director of Installation Management Command-Europe, was honored in a retirement ceremony on Clay Kaserne July 17.

Fish, who enlisted in 1984 as an infantryman, was joined at the ceremony by his wife, Tracy, and their children, Jordan and Joshua.

“Todd has served the citizens of the United States in uniform for more than 36 years,” said Tommy Mize, IMCOM-Europe director, who presided over the ceremony. "Todd has faithfully served our nation as a leader in the most demanding circumstances and leadership positions, touching and positively influencing the lives of thousands of service members and their families."

Prior to becoming the IMCOM-Europe deputy director in 2018, Fish spent two years as the U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden commander, an assignment that laid the foundation for his role as a mentor and advisor to current and newly assigned garrison leaders, according to Mize.

“Todd served many important roles for the region, but none was more important than the role he assumed as the mentor and sounding board for all the garrison commanders,” Mize said of Fish’s work with garrison commanders.

"Under Todd’s leadership, the garrison commanders worked closely together as an incredibly tight-knit team sharing ideas and lessons learned in a manner that made the entire region more effective," he said.

Fish enlisted in 1984 and served in the 8th Infantry and 101st Airborne Divisions as a Soldier and noncommissioned officer, before his commissioning into the Ordnance Corps in 1992, with three years branch-detailed Infantry.

After recognizing his family and thanking all of the Soldiers with whom he had served and led, Fish recognized the staff at IMCOM-Europe with whom he finished his career.

“I appreciate all the support. You’re true professionals, and you show your best every day,” he said.

“As Todd and Tracy continue their transition out of this Army that they love and make their way back to South Dakota, all of us at IMCOM-Europe, throughout all of the garrisons, U.S. Army Europe and the Army thank you and wish you all the very best,” Mize said.

During the ceremony, Fish received the Legion of Merit, his retirement certificate and pin, certificate from the Commander-in-Chief, and the United States flag, while his wife and children also received tokens of gratitude and appreciation.
