The 1st Cavalry Division is absolutely committed to protecting our Troopers, family members, neighbors, and veterans as we all work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This virus impacts how people gather, caused the cancellation of many events, affected our current deployment in support of Defender Europe, and we understand the recent announcements are creating uncertainty throughout our community.

Deployed Troopers and those at Fort Hood are working with leadership to determine the impacts on redeployment, limiting unnecessary travel, enforcing CDC recommended hygiene guidelines, and ensuring our continued readiness to accomplish the mission. As we move forward, this pandemic is impacting all of us in some way, including the delay of planned moves and cancellation of professional military education courses for many Soldiers and Families.

We will continue to post and communicate the latest guidance from the CDC and the Department of Defense, and I urge each of you to communicate with your chain of command, SFRGs and relevant installation experts to mitigate the personal difficulties and individual questions associated with these precautionary measures.

FIRST TEAM! LIVE THE LEGEND!
