Through this past year, contractors have been renovating and updating Barr Memorial Library for the Fort Knox community. In celebration of completing the new children's and teen rooms, library staff are inviting everyone to attend a Grinch-tastic Open House Dec. 17, starting at 1 p.m.

The children's room has been re-imagined into Buccaneer Bay, a room full of lively pirate decor and curious sea creatures. The old teen space has turned into the Teen Corner. Earlier this year, contractors were able to remodel the computer lab, all made possible by the Armed Forces Families Foundation.

The Grinch-tastic Open House stars the Grinch himself. A Grinchy Storytime will kick the event off at 1 p.m., followed by a screening of the original Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas at 3:30 p. m., and a meet-and-greet with the Grinch. Random prizes will be given away throughout the event. Everyone is welcome to snack at the hot cocoa and cookie bar.
