Near the tail-end of a two-day visit to Fort Knox, Gen. Gus Perna, commanding general of U.S. Army Materiel Command, took some time Aug. 8 to meet with Fort Knox leadership.
During a briefing, members of the group highlighted some of the post's outstanding achievements and discussed post housing and child care.
Prior to the meeting, Perna attended a graduation for cadets from 9th Advanced Camp, where he delivered the keynote address. He thanked the senior leaders afterward for the opportunity to participate in the graduation and said he would carry their requests back with him.
U.S. Army Installation Management Command, which oversees the handling of day-to-day operations of U.S. Army installations to include Fort Knox, was formally acknowledged as a major subordinate command of U.S. Army Materiel Command on March 8.
