Fort Hood, Texas -- The Central Technical Support Facility (CTSF) campus used the 244th Army birthday celebration to recognize and honor the retirement of one of their own, Friday, June 14, 2019.
Not only did the "double-dip" event mark the 1775 date, when the Second Continental Congress formed the Continental Army under the command of George Washington, to unite the fight against British forces, but the CTSF used the occasion to include a barbeque lunch and recognition ceremony for the CTSF Technical Division Chief and Acting Deputy Director, Lt. Col. Gordon Wilson, retiring after 28 years of service June 30, 2019.
The ceremony and celebration not only honored the distinguished history of the Army ─ Soldiers, civilians and family members in the service of our great Nation ─ but also included a traditional Army birthday cake cutting, reading of the Soldier's Creed, and singing of the Army song that served to recognize Wilson for his years of duty, honor and selfless service.
The CTSF takes highly its commitment to foster esprit de corps and add on to the team building of such events in order to enhance quality of life and improve organizational effectiveness in the future.
CTSF, a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command, performs testing, integration and certification of information technology and national security systems to support the digital needs of our joint forces.
