Wine Down Wednesday: Valpolicella

Quad biking on Mount Grappa
May 11, 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m./$120

Explore historic Mount Grappa, overlooking nearby Bassano del Grappa, as the group heads over hardtop and off-road terrain in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) quadbike. Participants will explore World War I battlefields, caves and rough mountain terrain. Each person must complete the ATV safety briefing and practical test before hitting the trails (part of the itinerary) and bring valid SETAF license. Two persons per ATV.
Armed Forces Entertainment: Murder Mystery Tour

Armed Forces Entertainment and USAG Italy MWR are proud to present the "Best Laid Plans," part of the Murder Mystery Tour. Be ready to participate in this entertainment project where guests will be transformed into the victim or even possibly the killer at large. Four scenarios will be led by four different guides to solving the "who-done-it" mystery. No acting skills needed; just a sense of humor and willingness to participate. Free and open to ID cardholders.
Hawk Walk

Learn how to handle and fly a hawk, which will fly from tree to tree, in the Berici Hills. The hawk has been professionally trained to land on the participant's fist whenever invited by the instructor, a professional and competent falconer who will make this the experience of a lifetime.
Lake Bled & Vintgar Gorge, Slovenia

One of the greatest Slovene poets, France Preseren, called Lake Bled the "second Garden of Eden." Just four kilometers away is Vintgar Gorge, the first intact natural gorge accessible to tourists. On this trip, the group will travel to the Lake Bled area via bus and begin the day exploring Vintgar Gorge. We will travel along the boardwalk through the gorge viewing the waterfalls and pools along the way. After the gorge, travel to the town of Bled on the shores of Lake Bled to spend the rest of the day enjoying free time. Spend it dining, people-watching, shopping or just exploring this beautiful landscape. Don't forget to have some of the famous Lake Bled cream cake! Bring your passport.
Asiago Bike Tour

The Asiago region is an Italian culinary and nature gem. Mix up your usual weekend routine and join Outdoor Recreation as they head to a local area to enjoy a scenic bike ride followed by a honey and cheese tasting. During the tour, participants will bike along Asiago's Old Railroad, taste honey and Asiago cheese, and learn about the region's World War I history. There will also be free time to explore the city center of Asiago at your own pace.

Berici Hills Donkey Hike
May 22, 8:15 a.m.-1:30 p.m., $55

Rewind time a little as you go up Monte Berico on a pilgrimage-style trek alongside (not riding on) donkeys. The group will reach the hills of Vicenza in the morning to meet the instructor and the donkeys. After a short lesson about donkeys, their behavior and how to prepare them for a trek, the group will start an easy hike. You will walk with the donkeys and not on them like modern pilgrims. The spirit of this activity is to cooperate with donkeys and learn how empathetic they are -- while also having some fun. Walk in the beautiful countryside, passing through meadows, woods and picturesque mountain villages. At the end of the tour, stop in a local agriturismo to taste some typical food. Activity level is light: generally relaxed with brief moments of basic fitness required.
Munich, Germany Express

Travel to Munich and visit the Munich Residence, a palace that served as the seat of government in Bavaria from 1508 to 1918. The group will visit the museum portion of the Residence, where visitors can browse on their own or utilize a free audio tour in English. After the museum, there will be free time to spend in Munich before heading back to Vicenza. Tourist passport needed.

Family Advocacy Program Annual Troop Training

Annual Troop Training familiarizes Soldiers with identification and reporting of:
• Domestic violence
• Prevention of family violence
• Identification and reporting of child abuse
• FAP education and prevention services

Youth Running Club

Ready... set ... run! This program is designed to teach correct running techniques in a team environment. Participants will need running shoes and athletic gear appropriate for outdoor and year-round running. The club is open to youth ages 6 to 18 years old who are registered with CYS. The club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays through June.
