ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. -- Now that the help desk and administrative support team for the Logistics Modernization Program has merged with the Directorate of Production Management in the Systems Branch, the LMP Lab has a new name and a new purpose.

The Systems Training Lab, as it is now known, is a place for ongoing LMP courses.

"The LMP Lab was more for trouble shooting," said Stevie West, chief of the Systems Branch.

For the Systems Branch, having LMP incorporated into their functions is akin to a homecoming, as they supported LMP's predecessor.

Much of the way LMP users receive help and the employees from whom they receive the assistance remains the same.

LMP1 is still the phone number to call for all issues involving LMP or to request training.

Most of that training comes in two parts - classroom time and shop time.

In the classroom, employees learn from the LMP experts and receive step-by-step instructions on how to use the system.

Once the classroom time is complete, the instructors work with the students in the shops, assisting them in a real world setting with the duties they will perform in LMP on a daily basis.

When an issue arises, calling LMP1 still gets trouble shooting assistance.

But, instead of trouble shooting one-on-one or in small groups in the LMP Lab, the help desk assists employees from their area of Bldg. 106 in the former Lean Hub.

West said most training is now performed on an as-needed basis.

If your shop needs assistance in mastering one of the components of LMP, call the team at LMP1 and the Systems Branch will set up a time and date for training.
